Glasgow River Festival 2006

An annual River Festival based in the area of the Science Centre and Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. The River Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday of the Glasgow Fair holiday weekend – 15-16 July 2006; and 14-15 July 2007. As part of the city's calendar of events, the River Festival will be a significant attraction for both residents and visitors.

The key elements from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm each day are:

Visiting vessels: including the SS Shieldhall; RMT Golden Cross RAF YC; and the Glasgow Clipper.

Boat trips: dinghy sailing, power boating and jet skiing.

Races: Zapcats will visit as part of the National Zapcat Championship. Races will take place over 3 hours each day, with heats and a grand final.

Mini regatta: Scottish Amateur Rowing Association will run races for 4’s, 8’s and sculls.

Entertainment: Music throughout the two days including a fun fair at SECC and various street performers throughout the area.
