City Cafe Glasgow
The City Cafe Glasgow is a smooth operator of a hotel dining room that's secured some real fans. It quite understandably won the "Best Newcomer" award a few years back, and is still cooking up a storm. Scottish gourmets understand these things. The modern decor is part of the success, as is the location - it's only a few minutes from the Scottish Exhibition Centre with a superb waterfront setting offering some pretty unique views. But the real star is the chef's stunning modern European cuisine. The food here is the combination of the best Scottish ingredients, cooked with flair and served with style. | More information about City Cafe Glasgow | City Cafe Finnieston Quay Glasgow G3 8HN | |

Labonne Auberge
As Glasgow's original French Mediterranean Brasserie and Bar, owner Maurice V Taylor first opened his doors on Bastille Day in 1975. Obviously, and quite delightfully, La Bonne Auberge drew its inspiration from the much-loved establishments of the French Riviera. And locals seemed to share Taylor's passion for the cuisine of the coast. So what can you expect to tempt your tastebuds with? Quite rightly, the kitchen uses only the finest fresh ingredients they can get their hands on. Then they whip up mouth-watering regional dishes in a typical brasserie style. Try their wild mushroom and leek risotto cake with grilled asparagus or their roast rump of lamb with creamed potatoes - and be whisked away to a place of gaiety and Gauloise. Then why not finish with a light apple and prune tart tatin to remember life's simple pleasures again?

Mussel Inn
There's nothing fishy about the Mussel Inn, well, apart from the wide range of seafood on offer of course. Owned and run by shellfish farmers, who grow mussels and other wonders in the freshest waters off the West Coast of Scotland, this is no doubt a truly natural 'green' cuisine. No one appreciates the seafood cuisine like these people, who were originally wholesale suppliers before launching their own empire of speciality eateries. And there's nothing like a passionate chef, and this restaurant definitely fits the bill.
