Venue Intro:

Braehead's 5200 capacity international arena is a world-class destination for sporting events and entertainment. Already host to events such as Disney on Ice, Football Masters, World Curling Championships and World Cup Gymnastics. The arena is multi-purpose and can be used for a wide range of events, from corporate dinners and pop concerts to careers roadshows and ice hockey matches.

Getting There:

Braehead is easily accessible by road from the whole of west and central Scotland. Based at Junction 26 (eastbound) of Glasgow's M8 motorway, a new motorway junction (25a) provides dedicated westbound access roads direct to the shopping centre whilst the new eastern link road connects the A8 dual carriageway. We're situated right of Glasgow's M8 motorway, about 5 miles from the city centre and about 4 miles from Glasgow International Airport.

Braehead is served by a comprehensive timetable of bus services and has its own bus station and Travel Information Centre. There is also a dedicated coach park for vehicles bringing large groups to the centre and taxi ranks at each end of the centre.

Disability Info:

Braehead offers a Shopmobility service to allow easier access to the shopping and leisure facilities for those who finds themselves restricted in getting around the malls. Manual and electric wheelchairs, as well as electric scooters are available on loan free of charge. Situated on level 1A of the Blue Car Park, Shopmobility has 30 designated parking spaces, in addition to the 650 disabled courtesy spaces provided throughout our car parks.

Customers who shop regularly can register for the service and are then able to book vehicles in advance. (Two forms of identification are required). The Shopmobility service is always looking for volunteers to assist in the running of the service. This may involve helping customers to and from their car, assisting with equipment hire or escorting customers throughout their shopping trip.

If you would like to know more about Shopmobility or are interested in becoming a volunteer, please phone Shopmobility on 0141 885 4630, or feel free to pop in and see the facilities.
