General Review-Writing Guidelines
Glasgow Reviews values your comments!
So do other readers. Therefore, before you compose your
review please take a moment to consider what you might
include to maximize its appreciation by others. Note
also that our review policies follow closely the model
adopted by Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and other sites
that routinely collect customer comments. Thus, please be
aware that we have adopted a 100-line (roughly 1,000 word)
maximum on submitted reviews. The recommended length
is 5 to 20 lines.
What to include:
Your comments should focus on the item's ability to live
up to its implied promise, or "merchantability". The best
reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a
given item (or product), but also why. Feel free to
mention other products you consider similar, and how this item
rates in comparison to them. Comments that are not specific
to the item being reviewed will not be posted on our site.
What not to include:
Resist the temptation to comment on other reviews or features
visible on the page. Please limit yourself to one comment
(review) per product. This information (and its position on the
page) is subject to change without notice. While we appreciate
your time and comments, we respectfully request that you
refrain from including the following in your review:
Any review in violation of these guidelines may not be posted.
- Profanity, obscenities, or spiteful remarks.
- Time-sensitive material (which eventually becomes out-dated).
- Single-word reviews. Other readers want to know
why you liked or disliked the product.
- Comments focusing solely on the creator/supplier of the product.
- Phone numbers, mail addresses, URLs.
